Hi everyone. It’s been a week since Lent ended but I still want to share how I spent Black Saturday. It was a day of sitting a midst nature – feeling every grain of sand, absorbing each ray of the sun’s heat, marveling every minute at the breath-taking sunset, & letting go of pent up emotions to the summer wind. Now you know how much of a beach addict I am! Enjoy the shots my loves.♥

Apple Tree Resort Getaway #HolyThursday
It was one hot Holy Thursday in Cagayan de Oro when ze gurls decided to hit the beach. We left the city around 3 PM and ended at Apple Tree Resort & Hotel after a few miles drive. This beach getaway has been a much needed thing. It was like a moment to reflect on things, release the stress, and just chill. It was one great afternoon/evening. We left the place almost midnight already. Anyway, have a meaningful Holy Week everyone. ♥

Fil Me Up Filipino Cuisine #nowcooking

‘First we Thaid you Up, now it’s time we Fil You Up.’ That is the catchy tagline of the newest Filipino cuisine restaurant in Cagayan de Oro City. From the people who brought you authentic Thai dishes comes a new ‘must visit’ food stop in CDO which will definitely be added to the list original tatak Kagay-anon restaurants. Who wouldn’t love being at one place while getting a taste of two cuisines? How awesome is that?

Kaamulan 2012
Unexpectedly got the chance to enjoy the Kaamulan Festival for a day last March 3. I haven’t done this for a couple of years already despite being from Bukidnon. Anyway, it was a tired yet fun 10 hours. Wasn’t really able to get a lot of shots of the street dance due to a lot of people crowding the streets. We couldn’t get in. :/ Anyhow, still managed to take these photos. Happy Kaamulan my dear Bukidnon.: )

Random Choochoo #readup
Hi. It’s been a crazy week so far. Not as chaotic though as the previous weeks. This time I get to go home around 7:00 PM compared to the usual 8:00 or 9:00. Because I’m in the mood to write stuff, I’m going to share a few observations while going to work or while at work. I hope you’ll find it interesting enough to make it ’til the last sentence. : D
Anyway, let’s start with the cab scenes. I’ve been taking the Taxi lately to avoid being late. And why is that? Because I usually wake up late.:/ I always find it interesting to observe the attitude of Cab drivers. There are some who are really nice and courteous and who mind their own business. And there are the nosy ones!! Like they’d ask about where do you work or what do you do, stuff like that. And it’s just plainly annoying! And there are those who lack professionalism in a way that they talk on the phone while driving. And mind you! I’ve heard a lot of private talks! Here are two examples. There was this driver who was talking to his mistress and they were even talking about his wife! A**hole! My goodness. Another time, it was a driver and his girlfriend/wife maybe arguing on the phone. I had to pretend not to care. Hayy. Magkaroon naman kayo ng decency. So basically, that’s part of a commuter’s life.
I’ve been frequently at the Bureau of Internal Revenue lately to take care of tax issues for the company. While sitting down on one of the client chairs one afternoon to wait for some documents, I happened to take a glimpse of a certain bulletin board where memos and reminders are pinned. I read a certain paper from the head office that talked about a customer relations seminar for all the employees of the bureau. I was like ‘Buti naman naisip nilang magpa-seminar kasi minsan hindi maganda ang reputation ng majority of them in dealing with clients and I’ve personally experienced it. Have you?
Anyway, thought of sharing how a random page of my planner looks like. Ang gulo lang noh?:)

Thoughts on First Daughter
Hi!! I’m currently attempting to write a short essay (essay talaga?) on the movie First Daughter which I got to watch this morning. After doing groceries last night, I happened to drop by Astrovision to check out, uh, I really don’t know. Haha. Anyway, finally got attracted to the DVDs on sale so I bought three. One of them was First Daughter. I didn’t know the movie was kind of old na pala. I am so 2000 and late!! Decided to still buy it cause I’m a fan of love flicks and I just got interested in the plot. The last movie I saw about ‘president’s daughter/body guard relationship’ was Chasing Liberty. It was the kilig type. But this one made me cry a bit couple of times. Hahaha. I guess I’ve been full of emotions lately. So where do I start?

When All Else Fails…
…you’ve got family.: ) What’s with? Nahh. Just felt blessed to get the chance to be home last weekend to a complete household. Being at home has been one of the scarcest situations since I graduated from college and started to live independently. Lately, despite being tired during the week and with weekend duties to do, I really made a decision to go uphill. Why? Because I needed back up! Emotional back up that is. I’ve been so stressed with work and stuff during the past few weeks that I needed comfort only my family can give. Another point is that we’re all not getting any younger. Time flies so fast. We get so caught up with our daily routines and sometimes, we forget to find time to be with the people important to us. I realized that I need to spend quality time as much as I can with my folks and brother because life is too short to forget the people we love. True happiness is indeed derived from late night talks with Mom, afternoon walks and Tennis sessions with Pop, annoying moments with Kuya, eating meals together, and basically the simple things you do with the gang. And this kind of happiness is one that can’t be exchanged with any form of material stuff. Hope this serves as a reminder to everyone to cherish your loved ones and spend time with them as much as you can.♥

CDO Bloggers Meet Team GeiserMaclang
It was a cold Saturday evening in Cagayan de Oro when a number of bloggers were invited to dinner by GeiserMaclang - a Manila-based PR and Marketing firm who is currently in the city to help out in planning and making strategies to revive the economic aspects of CDO which were greatly affected by last year’s disaster. Included in their campaign is to engage bloggers in promoting their advocacy. Cafe Laguna which is located inside Mallberry Suites, provided the nice ambiance for everyone to share thoughts and get to know each other. Looking forward to more concrete plans and actions regarding this campaign in the coming months. Fingers crossed.:)

Pinutos sa Kanto – JR Borja Extension Branch
If you are used to passing the CDO – Bukidnon road, you might be familiar with the mini kainan along San Miguel, Manolo Fortich called Pinutos sa Kanto. I’m from Bukidnon but never got the chance to try that diner despite passing by it all the time! Lately, after doing some volunteer work for #Sendong victims, our group chose Pinutos sa Kanto as the venue for lunch. I was like ‘Really? They branched in the city already?? Great!’ So I’m sharing with you my first PsK experience. By the way, aside from the JR Borja Ext. branch, they also have another one at Pride Rock Business Park along Gusa.

It’s Never Too Late to Help #Sendong
It’s been around a month since Sendong struct CDO. During the two month period, a lot of organizations came up to cater to the needs of the victims. I was blessed enough to be excluded from the affected occupants of the city and because of that, I always wanted to volunteer or help in some way. But sadly, I never got the chance because of my job which requires me to be at the office everyday. So all I could do was give financial help to solicitors. But later this week, a friend Tweeted that she was looking for volunteers for a relief goods giving during the weekend. Because I was free on the scheduled date, I immediately responded and had myself counted in. It always felt good to help those in need and despite being able to participate in volunteering quite late already, I still thank God for giving me the chance to do it. A lot of people need our help. Everyday. Thus, it’s really never too late.: )

This is where the Brgy. we went to located. They really lived along the river so imagine the situation during the flood

Robinsons Supermarket’s Value Plus Card

Good news to all the frequent shoppers of Robinsons Supermarket! After a long time of being a grocery store with no customer cards, they finally (Thank God) offered their consumers the privilege of having perks for being loyal shoppers. You can avail of the Value Plus card for only PhP 80.00 but if your purchases reach PhP 1,000.00, you get to have the card for free. After filling up the application form, it would only take a few minutes of waiting before the card is released. Easy as that.
The system goes this way. For every PhP200.00 worth of purchases, you get 1 point credited to your card. And when your points reach 100, you get a gift certificate worth Php100.00. You can either redeem the certificate or continue to increase your points. The use of this card is exclusive to Robinsons Supermarket ONLY all over the Philippines. So don’t show this to the Department Store cashier. Lastly, if you availed of the card through purchasing at least Php1000.00, sadly, your PhP1,000.00 worth of purchases won’t be credited to your card yet. Awww.:/
Anyway, this is still good news to Robinsons Supermarket loyalists in a sense that your purchases will get you freebies in the future by using the Value Plus Card. Happy Grocery Shopping!: )
The Awesomeness that is MyTubo
This week, I found myself going over the Android Market to look for photo editing applications. After a few hours of searching and testing, I finally found one that I will love for an indefinite time.♥ Its the MyTubo photo sharing app and it’s free! That’s one more reason to love this thing. So far, I’ve been enjoying the filters and the effects of MyTubo. I’m just wondering though what’s with the name. Haha. Anyway, if you’re using an Android phone, then try this cutie app. Here are some photos I processed using MyTubo.

Page 16-31 of 366
So, guess I’ll really have to do this Page thing in bulk most of the time. I’ve been on my busiest ever since this year started. I barely have time for myself. I bring work at my place even during weekends. Yes it may look workaholic-ish but I have to do it because of the deadlines to beat. Whew. There are times when I’d say to myself “See, why choose being an accountant? Now you’re all stressed mentally most of the time.” And I would answer back, “Well, what can I do. This is where destiny took me.” Anyway, enough of that crazy looking self talk. Where am I again? Oh. Page 16-31. Hmm. Let’s see what we can dig from my phone and camera’s memory card. Browsing. Browsing. Choosing. Ok. Uploading. Here we go. January was chaotic so far. Haha. #stress #work #antisocial #loner #sleepfreak Just realized how boring these pictures are!!

One Day: A Review

This is a super late post which has been on the drafts folder for weeks already. Whew. All the thoughts and ideas I had right after watching this movie is nowhere to be found anymore. I wish I just wrote them all down. Anyway, how do you want me to start this review? I want to watch it again so I could see details I may have missed during the first view. But a time for that would be kind of impossible as of now so let’s just dwell on where my memory would take me.
To start with, I bought the DVD because I wanted to watch something lite or refreshing like a typical love story. I had no idea about the plot of One Day so every scene always surprised me which was actually good. [Dang. Just realized I really have to watch the movie again!]
Will get back to this review in a few days. Hahaha. Bitin mode muna.
Cosmetics I’m Lovin’
I’m the kind of person who loves to try new things especially cosmetics of all sorts. Because I’m in the mood to do so, I decided to make a review on the different body treats I enjoy using now or cosmetics I’ve been loving since the good old days. These are just a few of them and expect for more reviews soon which by the way will range from body lotions, hair care, face treats, scents, and so much more! Hope this serves you well in times when you want to know if a certain product you’re eyeing is good or not and also if you’re in search of new beauty stuff. Enjoy and don’t forget that pampering yourself with good products is a really great way to boost that confidence.: )

Run for a Cause #CDOSendong
Typhoon Sendong caused so much ripples in the city of Cagayan and even in different parts of the country. Many projects came up to raise funds for the victims of last month’s tragedy and the running community of CDO never let the opportunity to do their part pass. So here are three events especially organized to help the people who need support the most. Let’s share what we have by running for a cause. A small amount of pesos from your wallets and a good amount of sweat would definitely go a long way.
